GongKwon Yusul
The meaning of GK and its logo!
Gonkwon means fighting with bare hands, a form of attacking the other person with most effectiveness in a situation where no weapon is available. In addition, this means all kinds of striking techniques of Gongkwon Yusul in narrow sense.
Yusool is composed of two different words: flexibility and technique. Ideally, Gongkwon Yusul pursues what is strong and realizes the flexible. This also means all kinds of Yusool techniques of Gongkwon Yusul in narrow sense.
Interpretation of logo!
The flexibly looking brush letter represents the technical system of Gongkwon Yusul that is naturally connected continuously without any breakdown.
The black letter embodies the high level of Black Dan that can be accomplished through incessant training.
The circle in the middle means clinging to the original determination at the outset and represents externally soft but internally strong state of mind.
The imperfect circle stands for the coexistence of what is strong and what is soft, and implies that the striking technique and the Yusul techniques are in same context.
Red colour symbolizes the incessant perseverance required for the hard training and efforts.
Gongkwon Yusul has the starting point but no ending point. It aims to reach the spiritual goal of achieving self perfection and fostering human beings who act on the enlightenment that what is ultimately strong is what is flexible and vice versa through incessantly repeated practice and improvement.
